A story about an old sea shanty sung to keep time with the pull of the oars — "Roll the old chariot along." The men called it Nelson's Blood, a sailor's toast to courage and loss. After Trafalgar, they say Admiral Nelson's body was sealed in a barrel of rum for the long voyage home. But as the days wore on and the rum ran low, the crew — weary, grieving, and still at sea — began to take the odd tot of rum from the barrel. By the time they reached England, the rum was gone, but the story endured.
This sweatshirt holds that same rough-edged spirit — a nod to salt-soaked legends and the strange, human poetry of life at sea. Soft, warm, and built for everyday wear, it's a piece of maritime folklore made for those who still feel the pull of the ocean.
